When making the maps I like to add notes to the labels as well as a symbol,as this provides more context to the symbol I have chosen. When using the navigation mode the symbols pop up but not the notes I have added to it, like it appears in the overrall route view or in the editing mode. I cannot for the life of me find an option to turn this on or off in navigation mode or maybe I have done it incorrectly? Not sure if this is a feature request or if I am doing something wrong, so I thought I would post here and ask first. Also apologies if this has come up before but I got to page 3/4 of the "how do I" and "feature requests" and decided it would be easier to ask than scroll through hundreds of pages. Any help is appreciated, thanks ?.

    Hi Ford,

    No apologies needed. =)

As the latest addition to the team, there is still a lot I need to test and figure out. Planning my own route, with symbols, labels, directions and so forth is among those tests.
I'll use your message as opportunity to do so.

Are you using the navigation mode on the Plotaroute app or are you using another app or device to navigate the route you created on Plotaroute?

    Have a nice day.

    Hi Julien,

    Thanks for the reply.

To put some context behind this, I work for a small bus company and was recommended to use this app/service, by a large operator that also uses this, for plotting our bus routes because as compared to Google maps say, this allows a lot more "stops" to be added and also doesn't give you diversions which differ from what the route is meant to be. So it's very handy for giving to new starters/people that don't know the routes. And because a majority of our routes are very rural and don't have proper "flagged" stops you need to put some context behind the bus stop symbol instead of stopping randomly by the side of the road as well as other things like pointing out single lane bridges and narrow roads to be cautious of, hence the need/desire to show the labels in the navigation mode. Basically just trying to make it stupid simple for people to follow.

To answer your question we are currently using the inbuilt plotaroute navigation mode which works well. I have tried the "Visarano" system but could quite clearly see that it's designed for walkers not necessarily vehicles. I haven't tried exporting the routes yet to a proper sat-nav as I don't have one to play with, mainly because HGV/PSV specific sat-nav's are very expensive.

I hope that answers your query and also gives some context behind the request.

    All the best,

    Ford
