Hi Michael,
I've just downloaded the QR codes for the four routes you linked.
I then opened all the routes, both on Android and iPhone.
In both cases, the browser opens the webpage of the route, starting with the route details, then, depending on the device and browser, an ad is displayed, then the options to download and at the end of the webpage there is another ad.
Depending on where you click on the website, other ads might pop up.
I haven't had any "Download your copy" as soon as I scanned the QR code, so I'm not sure what this is about.
But if this is an ad, it's quite normal that I don't see it, because they are location-based.
Could you take a screenshot of the webpage you get to after scanning the QR code and send it via "Help>Contact us"?
About the ads, we are aware that some ads are misleading. An event organiser got in touch with us about this and we started banning ads that were misleading and made people think that they had to pay to get access to the routes.
However, we do not decide which ads get shown, so we need to ban those ads by hand when someone gets in touch with us about this.
If you (all) see ads that are misleading, please get in touch with us here and send a screenshot of the ad (what we need to ban the misleading ads, is the name of the provider, which is usually in small print at the bottom).
Additionally, I'll raise this situation with the devs, to see if there is something else we can do about it.
On the subject of Visorando, you can use your "link to Visorando" to sync your routes and you can also share them via link or QR code on Visorando.
Do your riders use the Plotaroute web app to follow the routes or do they use their own apps and devices to follow the GPX?
All the best,
Julien
Hi Mark,
Thanks for your assistance. I'm hoping for a nice clean interface that does not has me to do multiple things before I get my route with cue sheet especially dodging all the ads. I tried a simple cut/paste of a screenshort but it asked me for a source of which I have no idea what is meant by that... sorry. It did not get far enough to worry about the size of the screenshot.
When I scan any one of the bar codes it asks me to "Download Your Copy" Copy of what? Is this an advertisement? There are way too many ads and makes the mobile app very confusing.
After poking around a bit, I finally got to the map with directions. My fear is that the average person, who is not familiar with Plotaroute, would not know have to use the app and would give up easily and not be able to use the program.
I am not familiar with Visorando, but looks like it has great potential. Any tips on how to best use it?
Bottom line.... How can I make this process easier for riders of my event and for me too?
Michael,
Did you try a simple cut/paste of a screenshot?
What do you mean by "not allow"? Did it baulk at the size of the screenshot?
Mark
Hi Julien,
Thanks for checking in to this. I tried to attach a screen shot of the QR code I made for one of the routes and would not allow me to do it. Here are the links to the four routes I would like codes for. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Mike

Hi Michael,
When I read this topic, I remembered that somewhere I had already read a topic asking if it would be possible to delete ads when sharing races and so on.
After a quick forum search I found this and as it happens, you asked this several years ago.
Before Plotaroute was bought by Visorando, I don't think that any changes were implemented on this and since then this hasn't been considered either.
I'll bring this up with the team and will get back to you.

I created a QR code for my ride event and when I try to access it, it comes up with a mess. I was hoping for a simple, here is my route without all the requests to join, browse, download this or that. How do I get a simple code without all the extra stuff?
