I have used the Plotaroute app for years to download a route and send to my Suunto App to upload to a watch. The plotaroute download GPX file appears to have stopped working. It starts the process but freezes before the download starts. Any ideas?
Yes, same here.
Hi!
This issue has been raised via the support as well and I have sent it to the devs.
This only happens on the iOS web app and right now the workaround is to download the GPX through the website instead of the web app.
I'll update this topic as soon as I have news from the devs.
Best regards,
Julien
I was just about to report that the file downloads fine from the website on an iPhone!
Yes works fine using a browser (firefox) on the same phone. Interesting via the browser you get a prompt to confirm download. The prompt is displayed over the download screen at the same point it hangs in the app.
No posts about it for a few weeks but this is still an issue for me - anyone had any update from support? ☹️
Hi Nigel!
I'm sorry to say that so far I have nothing new to share on this.
I'll bump up the bug report.
All the best,
Julien
Hi Julien, I face the same problem. Dowload GPX does not work with Safari on my Ios phone; You get to the download page and when you press `download this route`, the screen turns white and system seems to freeze.
When using Chrome on the same phone without changing any setting, this works.
So I have a workaround but is not very practical.
Maybe a setting on Safari although I didnt change anything? This issue popped up a few weeks ago. Any idea what this might be?

Hi Carl!
Just making sure we're on the same page:
You say "Dowload GPX does not work with Safari on my Ios phone".
Do you mean with the web app or also on the website?
I'm asking because so far the issue has only arisen on the web app. I just tested it again, and downloading with Safari on the website works fine.
Using Safari or any other browser on iOS works fine. Only the web app doesn't allow downloading routes.
This web app download issue is specific to iOS, as downloading routes on the web app still works on Android.
When this issue was raised, I looked up all I could online and also tested different settings, but nothing worked.
I've sent this to the devs, and so far they haven't found a fix.
All the best,
Julien
Hi everyone,
After my previous post this morning, I talked it over with the devs, and we did some new tests.
Until now, every iPhone I tried this on led to the same result, but one of the devs didn't get the same issue.
The devs will keep looking at it, but this seems to indicate that the issue might be connected to a setting or specific iOS version or iPhone model.
Could you tell me your iOS Version and Model Name in your iPhone settings?
I'll also send this request to the users who got in touch through the support. Maybe this will narrow down where this issue comes from.
All the best,
Julien
