Yes, what you see depends on your phone, I guess. But with an Android, you should indeed be able to browse to any folder.
Also is working well for me.
I point to my file manager, (rather than pictures and photos - I'm sure it makes no real difference, so long as you pick the relevant gpx file) press upload and it's done.
Yes, it's Uploading GPX only looks for images, first post (which was then hijacked!)
Works fine for me ...
In the mobile app, I go to Upload a Route and Choose File. On my Android phone I see ....
I click the "Photos & Video" and browse to my GPX folder ....
"it only offers me the option of uploading image (.jpg or .png) files. " is something I have a vague recollection of, in another post .... but this seems phone related rather than the app.
Thanks Julien,
I had a sneaky feeling that might be the reason.
Unfortunately your suggestion of uploading a route doesn't work either.
If I follow your instructions it only offers me the option of uploading image (.jpg or .png) files.
If I open the route from my Routes library, I can't upload the .gpx route as I get a "Server Error . 404 - File or directory not found" message.
Hi Anthony,
I have just tried this and have the same result.
When looking at what I can use to open the GPX file, they're all apps.
Plotaroute being a web app and not a smartphone app, is probably the reason using it to open the GPX isn't possible.
Meaning that the only way to open a GPX file with the Plotaroute web app, is to launch it, go to the menu in the top left corner and select "upload a route".
I'll ask the devs to make sure and report back.
Best regards,
Julien
In order to use them when offline, I have uploaded to my Android phone two GPX files of routes I have created on my laptop Plotaroute.
However I am unable to open these with Plotaroute on my phone. When I select the downloaded file, the phone asks which app I should use to open it. Plotaroute is not listed as an option.
Any suggestions appreciated.
