This one is a good small hills option route and aimed at better lanes after bad weather and Westerly winds. It also avoids Tattenhall completely should there be floods on either Rocky Ln or Frog Ln.
Not exactly flat with hillier option to go via Bickerton hill and Harthill but the rest is fairly flat, although the strech along Peckforton ridge is steadily up and on some of my real favourite lanes.
The westerly strech across the bottom is predominantly down hill, until we turn NE.

There isn’t really a poor bit now, except the little strech through Alpranham. Peckforton lane has had all the bad areas resurfaced so pretty good now and doesn’t flood where it used to. However, we do have to use main road past Bickerton Poacher for half mile, as there is no other option at all, but it isn’t a bad one.

If I want it hillier then head up through Carden park to finish.
If There is any sort of stiff NW wind then Carden park is better finish option.
Peckforton ridge provides fair cover after Bunbary, which is the cafe stop; either Tilly’s closed on Sunday, but open on Mondays or The Sheds, by the Co- Op open 7 days a week ( new posh cafe, interesting menu ,but pricey.

There are other options on cafes’ like the Fire station cafe in Malpas, should we shorten the route by 3 or 6 miles, making a Bunbury cafe stop to early in the case of 6 miles. By Simply going straight over the A49 to Bunbary, cutting out the 6 mile loop via Alpranham or 3 miles by taking Bunbury Comman Ln.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
