This one is aimed at hilly cafe ride, which isn’t to difficult for Paula, but will make me work hard. And a great cafe by the river. Not a route unless it has been dry for a week at least.
The main hills are before cafe, so the easy & shorter leg is the return.
We also come back close to the Lost Barn cafe and actually pass Manorwood cafe. This is a good route for meeting F&E at the various locations.
This route is pretty good and interesting especially after Honey’s as it takes in Blast road, which is a narrow lane through and around Fore golf club. Nobody uses it, although a bit bumpy and gravelly in places it had no pot holes. Wouldn’t be good after rain need several dry days first. Just like Springfield lane at the bottom of Griffin hill, Gresford.
However it makes an interesting change. The bit afterwards to the bottom of Griffin hill is through the houses to avoid the very steep and narly Pentre road, which I could barely stop the bike on when I did it first, so the route is now amended to avoid that and only adds a few hundred mtrs.
It means that the route would possibly even better into Westerly winds in reverse because most of the route from Honey’s in the anti-clockwise direction is fairly well shielded. By hedgerows etc and then all of The Steps would be with the wind .

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
