This beautiful 20 mile event is perfect training for runners taking part in a 2024 Spring Marathon or ultra marathon.

* The route is on approx 70% tarmac and 30% runnable farm trails. It is undulating (1088ft of overall climb) but there are no ‘big’ hills to tackle.

* The route starts in Cramond and takes you through Dalmeny Estate then out into the town of South Queensferry and up and over the Forth Road Bridge before heading back to Cramond.

* Please note that there are no road closures for this event.

* There will be water stations at miles 6, 13 and 18 which will have water and Active Root sports drink. You are encouraged to run with your own water carrier and to fill this up.

* The route will be marked and marshalled. The Strava map will be shared with you in advance of the race.

* It is a fundraising event for The MS Society and £5 of your entry goes to the charity.

* 600 maximum entries

The event has 3 wave starts:

8.30am for runners who intend to run the route with some walk breaks and may take 4 to 4.5 hours to complete it (please be aware that some marshal points may be unmanned for this wave however the route will still have been marked and no orientation skills are required, just observation skills!).

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
