The Hills to Harbour Trail is a series of self-guided walking routes that link the stations along the railway line between Guildford and Portsmouth. You can walk between any pair of stations. Walk 14 takes you from Fratton to Portsmouth and Southsea railway station. It is wheelchair accessible.
The route takes you to Southsea seafront, a traditional 'seaside' with beach, pier, park, aquarium, and museums. There are shops, cafes and pubs along much of the route plus the anticipated ice cream and food kiosks on the seafront. If little feet get tired, there are buses every 10 minutes to get back to the station.
PATH CLOSURES - Special events are sometimes held on Southsea Common during which public access is restricted. You may need to divert from the route as described at these times. Before setting out, check for events using the Visit Portsmouth website (link below).
There is much of interest, too much to list everything. Some of the attractions are housed in historic buildings and accessibility may be limited. Use the following links to check accessibility, opening times and admission charges. Some are free. (If you are unable to click through, copy a link and paste it into your browser.)

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
