Welcome to the Greenwich Park to Lewisham photography exploration!

This adventure is designed for you to experience at your own pace, and on a date and time of your choosing. Feel free to cycle, jog, or stroll along the route—it's entirely up to you. Venture solo, bring a friend, or even your four-legged companion for company; the choice is yours. You can travel the whole route or just a part that is accessible to you or sparks your interest.

As you embark on this journey, remember to capture moments that speak to you through the lens of your camera. Take your time to immerse yourself in the surroundings and let your creativity flow.

Once you've completed the route and refined your favourite shots, we invite you to share your masterpieces. Submit your top three photos as PDIs on Photo Entry then join us for a sociable evening at Mycenae House on July 22, 2025 to see what captured our interest. This meeting will be an opportunity to appreciate the unique perspectives and photographic styles of fellow club members.

As we delve into each other's work, we'll exchange insights and explore what captivated our imagination, discuss techniques, and learn from one another's experiences. Together, we'll celebrate the art of photography and grow in our skills and appreciation for the craft and have fun doing so!

Our adventure begins in Greenwich Park, a picturesque location offering stunning views of the city's skyline and the River Thames. Here, you'll have the opportunity to capture the grandeur of the historic Naval Museum and the magnificent Queen's House. Remember to keep an eye out for the diverse flora and fauna that call the park their home, as well as the many park visitors.

Leaving the tranquillity of the park behind, we'll make our way towards Blackheath, a charming village steeped in history. Feel free to snap photos of the quaint local shops, lively coffee spots, and the beautiful architecture of the nearby church. Don't forget to capture the vibrant atmosphere as people go about their daily lives. Stop for a coffee or a beer/wine, enjoy your day, its totally up to you.

Next, our path will lead us to Lee Terrace and Belmont Hill, where we'll experience the gradual transition from the village charm to the urban energy of Lewisham. Take in the sights of the daily market, the hustle and bustle of the fishmongers, and the lively characters that give this town its distinct personality.

Throughout our journey, you'll have ample opportunities to sharpen your photography skills and create lasting memories. So keep your camera ready, the photos you choose to take are entirely up to you. If you feel this walk is too far just choose where you begin and end.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
