Note the title CER 017 Burton Cafe - this is a Garmin route number 017 of course.
This is the reverse version of the same called MG- Elephant cafe, except the top bit to the Elephant has been chopped to make route shorter. Reversed In order to make the Dee river tow path a cross tailwind in Westerly
The bit chopped off saves 6 miles, as the cafe location is in Burton after 24 miles ( nice cafe fare few tables and several outside and is called ‘Burton at the Manor ( on the bend at the bottom of village & just before we turn off left towards the wash.
It is the most direct way to the Elephant cafe and almost pan flat route, without using main A roads. This route takes us around the nuclear enrichment plant at Capenhurst. However it might look like A roads from Costco to Cheshire Oaks, but it is on a cycle way all the way from rake lane.


You have to have at least a descent cross tailwind to tackle the River Dee towpath, as it is almost 5 miles and completely exposed. If a headwind then use Greenway.

The only negative on this route is having to ride the cycle paths from Cheshire Oaks for almost 2 miles. There is no alternative, bit of a nausea but
