Starting from the market ground, head down Stamford road and cross over onto mill street. Carry on past the new bridge inn and time left onto station road. Once on station road bear left into the bridle path and continue to the royal George. Cross over at the crossroad and carry on to the bridle path that take you towards greenfield. When at the fork take the left path down the hill towards the squash club. Once on this path, cross over the wooden bridge and immediately turn left to follow the trail along the river behind a housing estate. Do not go onto the road past the squash club. Turn left onto the main road once at the end of this trail and then turn left again onto the canal. Follow the canal all the way to the roaches housing estate. Come off the canal after woodend mill. Run along Manchester road to Mossley train station, turn right up Stamford. Finish at the top.
