MARSHAL PLAN

Back markers: Pat and Alan

Gathering on Town Bridge - make sure we don't block whole bridge, leave a walkway.

1. Millbrook crossing - Wayne and Pat, then Pat join the back of the ride

2. Bottom of High Street – Mark to stand at the pedestrian crossing and block cars turning up the High Street (we’ll be coming off the pavement and turning right up the High Street)

3. Upper High Street – Pip to block cars heading down towards North Street while we turn right, and Max to block cars coming up towards Upper High Street

4. Upper High Street / Epsom Road roundabout – Jaz

5. Dene Road - Mick to block cars coming round from Eastgate Gardens onto Denmark Road

6. Denmark Road – Kaizad

7. York Road – Bethan

8. York Road / Stoke Road crossroads – Nicky, Wayne and Mark

9. Nightingale Road - Max

10. Recreation Road roundabout – Pip and Jaz

11. Stocton Road roundabout – Mick and Kaizad

12. Woodbridge Road roundabout – Bethan, Nicky and Wayne

13. Ladymead – Mark and Max (only block one lane, keep other one free)

14. Walnut Tree Close - Pip to direct people into cycle lane

15. Turn onto bridge to university – Jaz to block cars coming north up Walnut Tree Close while we turn right

16. Bridge - Mick to warn people of bollard and encourage them to keep to left half

17. Perimeter Road - Kaizad

18. (Pause to regroup once on road, and again at top of hill above lake)

19. Cycle path turn after cathedral - Bethan to direct people

20. Benbrick Road – Nicky to block cars coming round from Alresford Road

21. The Chase – Wayne

22. Old Palace Road - Mark

23. Denzil Road - Max

24. Farnham Road crossroads – Jaz and Pip

25. Wodeland Avenue – Mick

26. The Mount crossroads – Bethan and Kaizad

27. Bottom of Mount Pleasant - Wayne to stop cars coming up, then block Portsmouth Road for the left turn. (If someone does want to turn in, I think there’s space to allow one car in and ask them to wait at the bottom, so they can get off the main road. So maybe position yourself a few metres up from the junction)

28. Portsmouth Road onto Bury Street – Nicky

29. Bury Street onto High Street – Max and Mark

When we get back to the bridge, please chivvy people off the road onto the bridge, and remind them not to block the whole bridge so people can still get past.

Then encourage them to come for a drink at the Britannia!
