Oostvaarderstrappen
Je trapt de beentjes los in het Hollandsche Hout. Dan draai je de kaarsrechte Knardijk op die ruim zeventig jaar geleden werd aangelegd voor het droogmalen van de Flevopolder. Bij Zeewolde duik je het Horsterwold in, met 3700 hectare één van de grootste aaneengesloten loofbossen van Nederland. Op het zuidelijkste punt van de route scheer je een stukje langs de Veluwerandmeren bij recreatiegebied Erkemederstrand. Vanaf hier koers je terug naar Lelystad. Na een tweede fase door het Horsterwold pak je een fietspad dat licht glooiend tussen weilanden met hereford koeien kronkelt. Het gaat om de 8 km lange route door De Grote Trap, een nieuwe natuurstrook tussen Zeewolde en Almere. In de finale geniet je van de Oostvaardersplassen, het bekende gebied met zijn grote grazers, onderdeel van het nieuwe Nationaal Park Nieuw Land. Via het Jan van den Bosch pad bij Almere draai je het gladde asfalt van de Oostvaardersdijk op. De machtige Knardijk brengt je weer terug naar het startpunt.
