Heuvelen Op De Heuvelrug
Je moet meteen aan de bak: vanaf restaurant Bergzicht loopt de weg meteen omhoog (Botterstop). Vervolgens duik je onder het toeziende oog van de Pyramide van Austerlitz richting de A12 waarna de Maarnse Berg je klimkuiten weer aan het werk zet. Het uitzicht op het helblauwe meer dat tegen de snelweg ligt aangeplakt doet onwerkelijk aan. Hierna volgen vlakke kilometers over strak asfalt richting het Leersumse Veld. Een tunneltje onder de N226 lanceert je op het Let de Stigterpad. Via superfijn gravel (geen probleem voor dunne race bandjes) baan je je een weg omhoog door een bos met kaarsrechte bomen. Ook rechttoe rechtaan is de afdaling en de daaropvolgende Ruiterberg. Na deze lekkere loper trap je via Leersum naar Overberg en begin je aan de bekendste beklimming van Utrecht: de Amerongse Berg. Uitpuffen doe je op het fietspad naar Elst en Rhenen. Via een scherpe bocht draai je de korte, maar steile Grebbeberg op. Via Veenendaal en Woudenberg gaat het terug naar het beginpunt.
