Eilandhoppen (Emmeloord)
De start is op een bijzondere plek: het Waterloopbos, ooit een proeftuin voor waterwerken van over de hele wereld. Bij het Zwarte Meer passeer je het 135 meter lange kunstwerk Pier + Horizon. Terug in de polder doemt een verhoging in het landschap met een lichtbaken op: het voormalige schiereiland Oud-Kraggenburg. Tijd om naar het volgende eiland te hoppen. Je fietst beschut tussen de fruitgaarden naar Ens. Vanaf de Ramsdijk duik je naar de voormalige zeebodem. Via een fietspad bereik je Schokland. Het drooggevallen eiland (Werelderfgoed sinds 1995) herinnert aan de strijd tegen het water, die niet altijd door de mens werd gewonnen. Na de passage van de Ketelbrug zie je Urk met zijn vuurtoren liggen. Het oude dorp op ‘De Bult’ is een perfecte plek voor een koffiestop op het terras. De laatste 25 km word je met een beetje geluk door de meewind terug richting het Waterloopbos geblazen. Bij het bezoekerscentrum kun je met een drankje over het dagje eilandhoppen napraten.
