Door Stad En Land
Deze route start in Havelte – vanwege zijn schitterende ligging ook wel de ‘Parel van Drenthe’ genoemd – en leidt je via klinkerwegen naar Meppel. Ondanks dat je nog maar net onderweg bent, is het de moeite waard om hier even te stoppen en van de sfeervolle binnenstad te genieten. Verder gaat het naar De Wijk, waar de Wieker Meule op je wacht. Kijk uit dat je geen klap van de in 1829 gebouwde molen krijgt en blaas via strak geasfalteerde fietspaden richting Zuidwolde. Als je hier de wind in de rug hebt, dan zoef je in sneltreinvaart langs weilanden, akkers en boerderijen. Na Echten wordt de omgeving steeds landelijker. Denk aan bossen (Echtenerzand) en brinkdorpen (Ruinen, Ansen). Hierna steek je de Drentsche Hoofdvaart over en trap je terug naar Havelte.
