Sittard - Kanne - Sittard
Vanuit Sittard vertrekt deze route richting Elsloo, vanwaar de Maas wordt overgestoken naar het land van frietkotten en abdijbieren. Aan de Belgische zijde van de Maas liggen een paar heerlijke stroken asfalt. Als de eerste 40 kilometer in de benen zitten, wordt de oversteek gemaakt naar het Heuvelland. Je fietst een klein stukje door Maastricht om daarna via de oude Molenweg het heuvelland te bereiken. Omhoog gaat het via de…Kuitenberg. Na deze eerste echte beklimming bereik je Berg en Terblijt en daal je de Geulhemmerberg af om daarna weer meteen de pittige hellingspercentages van de Brakkeberg te trotseren. Vervolgens daal je af via de Sibbergrubbe richting Valkenburg. Een goed moment voor een koffiestop! Weer op krachten klim je via de schitterende Goudsberg het dal uit. Na de Grensmaasvallei maak je je op voor de finale: de Bergstrasse in het Duitse Hillensberg. Daarna strijk je in Sittard op een van de terrassen neer. Proost.
