Haarspeldbochten En Kuitenbijters
Laat je niet misleiden door de afstand; dit rondje is door de stevige kuitenbijters, soepele lopers en onontdekte beklimmingen behoorlijk pittig. De eerste klim is die je benen laat vollopen is een bekende: De Koning van Spanje. Daarna gaat de rit richting dé parel van het Heuvelland, Slenaken, waar de vaak vergeten Schilberg op je ligt te wachten. Ook over de grens kun je vol aan de bak. Allereerst, de klepper van de dag: Rullen, een karakteristiek straatje, met matig asfalt, dat gestaag omhoog loopt. Ook de Holiguettte en de Planck verdienen vanwege de haarspeldbochten extra kudos. Alsof je in de Alpen fietst. Next up: Côte de Hagelstein, de Planck en Gieveld. Heerlijk smeuïge lopers van beklimmingen. Via Gieveld klim je terug de grens over. Het slotstuk vindt plaats in het Zuid-Limburgse Heuvelland, waar na de heerlijk lange afdaling van de Schweiberg de slingerende Kleebergerweg – max. hellingspercentage rond de 6% - voor je opdoemt. Een heerlijk klimtoetje.
