Vennbahn Etappe 3
Over het indrukwekkende viaduct van Reichenstein gaat het via de Kalterherberg en de Duitse exclave “Ruitzhof” terug naar Belgisch grondgebied. Het unieke heidelandschap kondigt de Hoge Venen aan. Dit fascinerende hoogveengebied – tevens de naamgever van de Vennbahn – zorgt er als gigantisch waterreservoir voor dat er talrijke beken en rivieren te overbruggen zijn. Langs het oude stationsgebouw van Sourbrodt met talrijke goed bewaarde overblijfselen uit de spoorweggeschiedenis loopt de Vennbahn tussen de meren van Robertville en Bütgenbach door en eindigt uiteindelijk in Waimes.
