Andrew has checked coffee and lunch stops and hotel. The other choice in Pontivy was Hôtel du Château but that's much more expensive.
Andrew also says re evening meal:
L’Aiglon offers “seasonal cuisine that showcases the authentic products of Brittany”. I like this place as it has a simple menu that offers fish, steak or pizza (see screen shots). It’s in a central location overlooking the Castle in the town, about a 10 minutes walk from the hotel.
L'Auberge de l'île is a traditional French restaurant with a wider choice of dishes (see pdf). It is located on the banks of the river, on the Île de la Petite Venise in Pontivy, again about 10 mins walk from the hotel.
If it was down to me, I’d go for L’Aiglon but I’m happy to offer the choice to the wider group. Indeed, if neither of these appeal, I’m also happy to offer other options.
