This one is also used by me for CER ride from Alison’s and aimed at strong Westerly winds and even north westerly, due to the cover provided by the hedgerows when travelling north from Farndon and then the Greenway of course. This route also good for meet others on route at Farndon.

Hospice cafe after 27 miles and is fab value, being charity run and very warm all the time, so great in cold wet weather. The food is great and cheap and there open 24/7 every day of the year.

This route is ideal in bad or cold weather as it can easily be shortened by bailing to Meadow Lea via the Greenway, as this route is via the Greenway anyway, so in stead of going left through to Saighton, go right direct to Meadow Lea for a much shorter route of course and a cafe stop as well, as Meadow Lea would be only a few miles of course from where we get on the Greenway.

So this route is really very useful covering a lot of options. I will therefore create a Garmin dedicated Garmin route with a 0xx number, when I next ride this route, as it is simple to do from the ride history.
Note this particular route is a fraction shorter than the original Cheshire Oaks version, as it cuts out the extra bit via Rake Ln, which is only an extra mile, but avoids the awkward little pathway that gets you around us using the very busy main road.

This is a slightly shorter version of an almost identicly similar route apart from the extended loop via Cheshire Oacks.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
