This is a combined out-and-back with a partial loop. Essentially you'll follow the MoPac Pedestrian Bridge to the north side of Town Lake, then head east along the trail until you reach the LEFT turn onto the Shoal Creek Trail.

Follow the Shoal Creek Trail all the way to the 24th Street Bridge in Pease Park. That is your turnaround point.

Continue back the way you came until the Shoal Creek Trail dead ends back into the Ann & Roy Butler Trail. TURN LEFT, heading east. Follow the trail and exit LEFT up onto the ramp that will take you back across Town Lake via the Drake Bridge (1st Street), down the stairs, and back onto the trail at our Tuesday/Friday meeting location.

Continue on the trail past Stevie Ray, all the way back to the starting location. You'll have walked just over 8 miles by the time you finish.

This should take less than 2.5 hours to complete.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
