Tijdens deze dagroute van 76km fiets je afwisselend door het oude hoevenlandschap afgewisseld met diverse bossen. Het is indrukwekkend te realiseren dat een eeuw geleden Mariënvelde, wat nu een dorp is, toen nog een heidveld was. Via diverse kerkenpaden met ieder hun eigen naam, beleef je hier volop het actieve boerenleven. In de verte zie je de kathedraal van de Achterhoek, de Sint Werenfriduskerk in Zieuwent. Onderweg merk je geregeld aan je benen dat er behoorlijk wat hoogteverschillen zijn. In Lichtenvoorde en Aalten kun je fijn neerstrijken op één van de vele terrasjes.
