This route takes you across varied terrain from road, footpath, trail and track beginning in the center of Stalybridge and onwards to the Eastern reaches of Oldham taking in both suburban and rural landscapes along the way. It's a significantly hilly course, particularly in the mid to late sections with weather/season dependent factors adding to the challenge of this route with many exposed sections throughout. Towards the end this run becomes more forgiving as you descend back into the center of Stalybridge from Mossley. Some sections are more suited to trail running but these are relatively short to not make this route a predominantly trail focused route but a decent pair of supportive running shoes with decent grip is a must!

This is a great route if you're looking for an inter/advanced solid long run with some variety thrown at you in the inclines to pace yourself on and changing terrain to make things interesting along the way!
