Naar Kastelendorp Diepenheim (Twente)
De route gaat dan richting Markelo door het licht heuvelachtige landschap aldaar met klinkerwegen. Je beklimt de Kattenberg (Traasweg), Markelose Berg, De Hulpe en de noordkant van de Herikerberg. Via het Zijkanaal naar Almelo fiets je richting Almelo en Tubbergen door zeer landelijk gebied, maar je komt niet door de kernen. Tussen Albergen en Tubbergen fiets je nog over smal geasfalteerd fietspad langs natuurgebied Monnikenbroek.
