Tried some "not over Etham Hill" options. https://en-gb.topographic-map.com/maps/93lz/Eltham/ Going north from Beths its up onto Bexley Heath which, while not as high as Oxleas, is quite a climb. The success of that one is finding a climb you actually enjoy as once through that its pretty much "down hill all the way home". If I was to tweak it I'd aim to hit the river a little sooner as its fast and lovely all the way along the Thames. The Mottingham option I liked as not that much less direct. Could add parks or take out. I went via Sutcliffe Park and Blackheath which puts some climb in and a bit more distance but its nice that way. Was thinking "home" rather than "out". Do you just go down Lee High Road?
