I can't seem to specify the location of a direction I'm adding to an out-and-back route. For example, say I want to add a direction half-way out on a 100km out-and-back route. The point may be at the 25km or 75km point. Whichever it happens to be, I can't specify the other.

I had a look in the "How To" but could not find how to solve the posed problem.

The animate function, by distance_time glider "edit" field to be transformed into a create tool ?

Position select by adding (slow) single step trackpoint: "Return < = > Forward" Buttons.

Or comfortable (autocenter map) single step trkpt to trkpt browsing by keybord < = > buttons.

Hi Paul - you'll need to separate the overlapping sections of the route to be able to select the correct section.  You can do this using the Drag Mode (switch at top of map) to drag the points apart slightly.

How to insert direction or waypoint on an Out-and-Back Route ?

Edit screen > Select HILLS > Find elevation window > Distance glider > "Click to add directions here" > Done.
