Popular Routes
On the "How To Identify The Biggest Hill Climbs On A Route", it discusses how to add lables for hills, but there's no mechanism, that I can tell, to save the labels.
That's correct Paul. If you want to save labels on a route profile you would need to add them as labels in the directions panel of the Route Planner. Any labels added this way will automatically load in the Route Profile tool. The other option is to click SHARE in the Route Profile tool to get a link that you can use to reload the route profile with any settings you made, including custom labels. You can then keep a copy of this link somewhere. You could add it as a comment on the View Route page if you like.
I want to show all my routes with the same specified elevation profile scale for comparison purposes; last week this was possible, today I can't see how to change the scale of a route elevation profile.
Hi Anne,
I just tried and hope the following steps are what you are looking for:
Go to the details of your route and click on "Explore hills in more detail" under the elevation profile.
On the left side of the chart, you should see the "Gradient filter" bar you can change and right next to it the "Max. Y" and "Min. Y" bar you can also change.
You can slide the bar for the Min. Y value and you can click on "Auto" to override the Max. Y value.
Hope this helps!
Julien
Is there a way to create custom hills?
For example, it would be useful to have hill stats between custom labels.
Thanks.
Hi Luca,
You can add labels in the Custom Labels tab of the Route Profile, but, like John wrote back in 2023, you cannot save them.
Also, adding labels doesn't generate stats between those, but if you want stats for specific sections, that's possible.Use the Section Selector just above the elevation profile by sliding the start and end points to the distance you want stats for, and the stats will update for this section only.
I hope this helps.Best regards,Julien
Hi Julien,
Thank you for your response.
Regarding saving custom labels, I managed to resolve this by adding them as directions on the map, as you previously suggested. This approach makes them appear in the custom label section, which works well.
I also appreciate your suggestion about using custom-stats. I’ve tried it and it does the job, but unfortunately, I have to repeat the procedure every time I need the information. That’s why I’ve started saving the data in a spreadsheet instead. It would be very helpful to have a feature that allows selecting any pair of custom labels and viewing stats between them directly.
Thanks again for your help.
Best,Luca.
Thanks for the reply. I'm glad it helps a bit, even if it's not optimal.
I'll add this to the requested features I'm updating the devs about.
All the best,Julien
