But other mapping / routing applications do support multiple / different tile providers. I'm currently working on a project I had to take to another application (which isn't overall as good as Plotaroute) as their use of MapBox gave me a clearer satillite images to figure out the route.

I don't neccesarily need a direct reply, but just wanted to say that if you did add a new service level with better sateillite tiles, I would be the first to sign up.

The reason behind this, is that the satellite maps, like the other maps, are not our own maps. Therefore, we cannot update or change them ourselves.

The different maps and layers are provided by other companies. In the case of the satellite images, they are provided by Tomtom, which explains why the images and updates are not the same as on Google Maps.

Updates are made by those companies, but we don't know at what rate and in the case of satellite images, the dates differ from area to area.

If this issue changes your mind about the Premium subscription, just let me know and I'll refund you.

With respect, I don't think this response is adequate. Satellite maps are a premium paid for feature and with this comes a reasonable expectation of service provision. Plotting slightly off-the-beaten-track routes using satellite imagery (for which, in my current intended destination, Google Maps has clear paths shown on images from 2022) was the main reason I upgraded recently, and I am disappointed to find they are not up to date. Why is it 'out of your hands' - is it a cost/licencing issue, a software development issue, or some other reason? Even if you are genuinely unable to update, a proper explanation would be helpful. Thank you.

Can you update your satellite maps. Google maps are refreshed more often. There are missing some new roads and paths on your satellite maps.
