I'm with Mike on this. Plotaroute is BY FAR superior to Visorando in every way. If losing features like custom directions etc is the result, I will not renew or move.

My plot a route premium membership is up for renewal again. I use PR premium almost weekly to create cycling routes and have always made them public for others to use, I am not an active forum user anymore since the acquisition as a year ago I did try Visorando and didn't enjoy the experience before. So here I am one year later ready to give Visorando a go again. I linked my accounts ages ago.

So I go into the Visorando website and straight away its all about "walks" .

The homepage is "Free walks library, route planner & outdoor GPS", all my routes are under the "My Walks" menu option, then I see "All my walks. Not a good start since I don't walk!

NOTE, all that text above was from June 2025 (scroll down, you can see it). I mean, changing some words on the front web page must be hard eh?

However, I did try to edit a ride "walk" . I find "edit the original route" but it's now all in French.

I'm wondering, what aspect of Plot a Route HAVE you incorporated into Visorando in the past 12 months? If you haven't even changed the word "walk" on the front page, I'm thinking you've done very little.

This is like a broken promises forum for 2 years. I ahve no idea why you bought plot a route and then just stopped all development. Perhaps you could just give it back to the long distance bikepacking community to maintain themselves?

I haven't even checked the renewal fee. I simply use the old plot a route website, make my routes and leave. I've lost all sense of community to this forum.

Has anyone found a better value-for-money cycling planning tool yet? I'm ready to switch if there's recommendations.

    Hi Steve,

    Apologies for the late reply.

As I look after user support for Plotaroute, there is one point I can comment on:
"However, I did try to edit a ride/walk. I find 'edit the original route', but it's now all in French."
This was indeed a bug that I reported to our devs, and it was fixed last week.

I understand that your concerns go beyond this specific issue and have passed your comments and feedback on to management.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.
    Kind regards,
    Julien

    Totally agree with previous posters!

Community spirit torn up and no real development of plotaroute! I think the purchase of plotaroute was probably done as a click bait encourage plotaroute community members to transfer to a poor and second rate site. How bizarre is that?

As a cycling route plotter, who has used Plotaroute for many years, I'd like to concur with previous posters. Plotaroute is the best route planner, mainly because its editing capabilities, as opposed to the initial route creation process, are superior to anything else I have used.

I saw no reason to extend my first year's Visorando premium subscription, but quite happy to continue renewing my plotaroute subscription.

@julien - I'll be blunt. After >5 years paying subscription to plot a route I let it lapse. I will continue to use plot a route for free as long as you let me , but I use RideWithGPS to find routes now. Unfortunately, you've lost the userbase, none of us create routes or engage via the forum anymore. I came back to this forum to see if you'd replied. I appreciate that you did respond, but there's not much you can do personally when no one is working to develop the website.

    Julien,

I appreciate the work you are doing, but when you say "and have passed your comments and feedback on to management.", that implies the "management" are not engaging (ie reading) with this Forum.

One of the standouts with the orginal PR developer was his engagement with the community via the Forum .....
