    Thanks, Alastair.

Always nice to go to expos and meet people. =)

I'm glad you're exploring and enjoying Plotaroute.

Have fun with the Tour de France routes. ;)

Good morning! I hope Stuttgart was enjoyable.

Everything is going well here, Julian. I’m currently trying to anticipate the routes for the 2027 Tour de France Grand Depart. You can find more information here:

    https://www.letour.fr/en/news/2026/grand-depart-great-britain-2027-the-cardiff-express/1333023.

will be a route that involves a loop around the west coast or follows the coastline, resulting in a stage length of approximately 200 kilometres. I have been having a good time with plot a route, investigating the various possibilities.

    Many thanks for your assistance

    Alastair

    Hi Alastair,

Sorry for the late reply, I was at the Stuttgart expo the last few days.

It wasn't clear to me that you were using the "Make me a route" feature, which does indeed have a 100km limit.
This feature isn't designed for what you were looking to do I guess.

Were you able to plot your route?

When I did the test, I just clicked on Glasgow and then on Carlisle. You can either save and edit it later or you can edit the route right away and save it afterwards.
Also, make sure to use the cycle auto-plot feature and enable the additional settings if so desired.

    Best regards,
    Julien

Ok, I have understood. Saving the route "finalises" it until you click on edit this route?

    Many thanks again

Thank you for your prompt response. I noticed that the "Make Me a Route" feature on the left side has a slider that only goes up to 100k. I was looking for an option that allows me to simply type in the two place names and then edit the route.

    Many thanks

    Hi Alastair,

I take it you weren't able to plot this cycle route in one go?

I have just set my starting point in Glasgow and end point in Carlisle, while having auto-plot on and set to "by bike" and it plotted a 160 km route.

Please let me know what exactly didn't work for you.

    Best regards,
    Julien

A straightforward question; I seem to be missing something. I want to plot a cycle route from Glasgow to Carlisle.

    Thanks in advance :)
