This one is aimed at NE wind & meeting F&E at Alison’s in winter.also a good route after bad weather & floods like Rocky Lane. Sometimes Bowlesworth lane also floods, so just go through Tatt and up Burwardsley road and across.
can easily miss out the Greenway, if we think it could be flooded, by going straight up Hoole Lane to Guildon Sutton.
This is a clockwise route so they can do their usual early start and I meet them at Alison’s, then take them on a small hills ride via the easier Harthill & on to Brown knowl, across to Tilston & Wetreins lane.
This way we all do the same route, just half of it on our own and I can start later, near 12, when it is warmer.
I can stop at their place if need be and perhaps ride straight passed Meadow Lea. Key thing is plenty of options, as I can also short cut it straight home via Huntington, if the weather got worse of course.
This route is susceptible to winds in places, like canal road from Wav ( NE not good of course, but just a crosswind , The stretch from Lav is the toughest bit, all the way to Chester hence, the route has been modified to take in Borras and not Rossette road, which would be a very exposed slog with NE wind

Rocky lane at Tattenhall has terrible floods these days Winter of 24 ( really bad and the mud in the lane, even if you can ride through is almost as bad as Hollywell lane) Anyway the point of this route is to avoid that and at the same time get some small hills in on an otherwise flat ride Brown knowl and the lovely road to Tilston are good lanes. This whole route is very good quality lanes. The easy Harthill lane is a cracker but can be filthy at times from farmers & occasionally get caught by cows crossing, but not normally in winter for the cows.

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
