Deze route neemt je mee door het gebied tussen Utrecht en de Loosdrechtse Plassen. Dit gebied wordt aan weerszijden begrensd door de Vecht en de Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Het startpunt van je tocht ligt op de oeverwal van de Vecht, bij Slot Zuylen. Dit is een van de oudste kastelen aan de Vecht met een lange historie. Vanuit hier fiets je langs tal van buitenhuizen langs de Vecht zoals Buitenplaats Doornburgh en Landgoed Gansenhof. Verder kom je ook langs het Fort Tienhoven. Dit fort werd gebouwd rond 1850. Tegenwoordig wordt het fort niet meer gebruikt en de natuur heeft er vrij spel gekregen.
Schone natuur
Niet alleen de buitenhuizen op deze route zijn de moeite waard. De natuur is hier ook ongekend mooi en relatief schoon. De provincie Utrecht werkt hier hard om de buitenlucht schoner te maken op steenworp afstand van de stad. Zo wordt de leefomgeving gezonder gemaakt.

In de provincie Utrecht zijn maar liefst 285 buitenplaatsen te vinden in alle soorten en maten. Tijdens je fietstocht maak je kennis met een klein deel van deze pareltjes. Laat je bij deze mooie bezienswaardigheden even mee terug nemen in de tijd en bewonder al het moois!
