    Buiten Rotterdam lijkt het veel meer knokken om de groene ruimte. Dorpen, bedrijven en wegen rukken op. Flora en fauna komen steeds meer in de knel. Bovendien, en dat is minstens even belangrijk, heeft de randstedeling het steeds moeilijker om bij huis fijne, groene wandel- of fietsommetjes te vinden. Daarom ook probeert Natuurmonumenten steeds meer groen veilig te stellen én mooier te maken. Met bloemenweiden, sloten vol leven en her en der moerasjes.

    Het Polderpad is een fiets- en wandelroute tussen de rivieren de Schie en de Rotte. Te midden van een druk en verstedelijkt gebied brengt het Polderpad je dwars door het hart van vier groene droogmakerijen. Je ziet vogels, vee, boerderijen met monumentale bomen, hoge vaarten, dijken en gemalen.

    Tip tijdens deze fietsroute

    Deze fietsroute is makkelijk op te pikken vanuit Rotterdam CS. Station uit, rechtsaf (Weena). Hofplein recht oversteken. Op de Admiraal de Ruyterweg net na P de Rotte linksaf Jonker Fransstraat. Via Linker Rottekade kom je op Crooswijksebocht. Bij kpt 84 naar kpt 88.

    Let op: Vanwege de aanleg A13/A16 en de daardoor snel veranderde omstandigheden kan het zijn dat je tijdens deze route op sommige punten omgeleid wordt. Dit staat niet in onderstaande route aangegeven. Advies is om de borden van de wegwerkzaamheden te volgen.
