MORE En Smoks (Ruurlo - Zelhem)
Startpunt vanaf Eetcafé de Veldhoek
Vanaf Eetcafé De Veldhoek ga je linksaf de Varsselseweg op. Bij de Veldhoekseweg rechtsaf, bij de Schapendijk fiets je naar knooppunt 74. Vanaf knooppunt 74 volg je de route richting knooppunt 22 en verder.
Startpunt vanaf Wolferswoud
Fiets richting de Ruurloseweg en ga rechtsaf. Bij knooppunt 5 rechtsaf de Wolfersveenweg in. Volg daarna de bordjes naar knooppunt 6.
Zelhem
Als je in Zelhem komt, kun je niet om Smoks Hanne heen. Smoks Hanne is het beroemdste kruidenvrouwtje van de Achterhoek. Ze vloog altijd achterstevoren op haar bezemsteel en droeg veel te grote klompen, die bij het lopen over de grond sleepten. In het Achterhoeks heet dat ‘smoksen’. Op vele plekken vindt je Smoks Hanne terug in het dorp en vele lokale lekkernijen zijn naar haar vernoemd.
De Zeven Heuveltjes
Het gedeelte van het Windmolenveld aan de Zelhemseweg is bekend onder de naam 'De Zeven Heuveltjes'. De dennenbossen (hout voor de mijnbouw) waren vroeger in bezit van de familie Van Heeckeren van Kell. Nu beheert Staatsbosbeheer deze bossen.
Kasteel Ruurlo
Kasteel Ruurlo wordt al in 1326 genoemd en is vanaf de 15e eeuw in handen van de Nederlandse adellijke familie Van Heeckeren geweest. Vlak voor de restauratie van begin jaren tachtig was het kasteel de locatie voor de televisieserie 'De Zevensprong' naar het boek van Tonke Dragt. In 1977 werd de gemeente Ruurlo eigenaar van dit kasteel en deed het dienst als gemeentehuis. Na de fusie van de gemeentes (thans gemeente Berkelland) werd het gebouw overbodig. In 2012 is het door Hans Melchers verworven en heeft het haar deuren geopend als ‘Museum More’ met een collectie van modern realistische werken.
De Veengoot
De Veengoot is gegraven voor de afwatering van de sloten in het veengebied Wolfersveen. Tot het begin van de vorige eeuw was dit gebied zeer moerassig en onbegaanbaar. Door de afwatering is de buurtschap Wolfersveen ontstaan.
