This one is almost perfect for stiff, direct westerly winds in a Clockwise direction. So, it is with the wind at the start for 10 miles then track south to Bunbary, downhill or with good hedgerow cover. Then mostly up hill via Peckforton and much tougher 2nd half to the ride, but with great wind protection from the ridge. The only negative is the half mile on the Nantwich road to Bickerton, but then Great cover through Bickerton., Brown knowl and Harthill. The last bit via Frog is in to wind for hard finish.
Great root overal and hard to create a better Westerly wind route, other than a really hilly one zig zagging around And through Carden Park, Harthill and the ridge line. however, this one is not really suited to bad wet weather in winter, mainly because of Bickerton hill, but that can easily be avoided on really wet days by using the smooth parallel b road (Long Ln) that only adds half mile more, but feel more wind.

I have this route on my Garmin explore called: ‘MG-Westerlies Very hilly dash’ (28.83miles)

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
