Brabants Kloosterpad 2a: Boxtel - Megen
Het geloof verdwenen uit Brabant? Ja, het dagelijkse bidden en belijden nam de afgelopen decennia flink af. Maar nog steeds zoeken mensen hoop en houvast. Bij kapellekes en kerken, met een kaarsje voor naasten, en soms zelfs bij heiligen van weleer. Zoals in Megen, waar deze fietsetappe eindigt.
Een wens voor de ander
Bijna dagelijks steken mensen hier briefjes in de mouwen van broeder Everardus. Dit Heilig Bruurke stierf in 1950 en rust sinds 1954 in de naar hem vernoemde kapel. Heb je een wens of gebed voor iemand? Schrijf het op een briefje en laat het hier achter. Everardus zal het naar God brengen. De fietstocht door de bossen en heiden van oergebied De Maashorst, langs de vennen en zandverstuivingen bij natuurgebied Herperduin en door de graslanden en langs schapenkuddes in natuurgebied Wijboschbroek geeft rust, ritme en ruimte. Vaste waarden achter de muren van de vele kloosters die je onderweg tegenkomt. Maar voor de fietsende mens nét zo goed weldadig.
