Hi,
Sorry for the late reply.
@NC & Mark: thanks for confirming that the rogue tile has vanished.
@Stuart: devs are still looking into it. I hope this feature will be available again soon.
Kind regards,
Julien
Hi Julian.
Has there been any update on being able to print the OS / Topo maps?
The ability to choose this option from the dropdown print options was lost with the move the Topo maps.
Thanks,
Stuart
Been on holiday, so late here ....
"Rougue" tile seems to have gone ... but the mapping still shows differences at different zoom levels ....
I'd love to share a screen shot .....
Hi Julien,
I can no longer see the rogue tile, so maybe it's fixed itself. (Cache cleared somewhere en route?)
Perhaps Mark W can confirm if it's disappeared...
NC
Hi NC,
I understand the question, and have already asked the devs if we could "simply" go back to the previous OS Map or even have one OS Map and one TOPO Map.
I don't understand the technical side of it, but going back or adding another map comes with its own challenges, so for now the devs want to improve the new TOPO Map, work on the cache issues and also the still ongoing slow tile loading, especially on Street Map.
As soon as devs get back to me with the relevant information for the rogue tile investigation, I'll send you an email.
Julien
Hi Julien,
Better to leave it 'as is' rather than eliminate the duff zoom levels. And let's hope the 'rogue tile' issue fixes itself with time.
But all worked well before changes resulted in these snags, so I'm tempted to ask the question 'can't we revert'. I guess that's not possible, otherwise you would have done it!
Regards, NC
That's a poor, backward step for PR
Hi NC,
Thanks for offering to help.
I'll check with the devs what they need, and I'll send you an email about it with visuals.
From what I understood, fixing the projection model issue would take too many resources.
Because this issue arises only every second zoom level, the workaround would be to avoid the zoom levels where the divide is visible.
Please zoom in or out when you see the divide, and you should see the OS Map correctly.
I know it's not a perfect solution, but for now, it's all I can offer, I'm afraid.
Julien
Hi Julien,
Happy to help - though as you say, perhaps the 'rogue tile' issue will resolve itself.
Is there any chance of the OS map north/south discontinuity at specific zoom levels being cured? (For me, using OS as background when plotting is a great advantage of PlotaRoute. But I live not far off the discontinuity line so am frequently finding it a PITA).
Regards, NC
Hi NC and Mark,
I talked about the "rogue tile" issue with the devs this morning, and because we cannot reproduce the issue, they believe it is a cache issue, somewhere between your browsers/devices and our servers.
This does not appear to be something that can be fixed easily.
Cache on our servers has been cleared several times over, so nothing else on our side can be cleared.
The same goes for you, because you have already cleared your local cache and tried different browsers.
Most cache updates after a while, so we're hoping this issue will resolve on its own.
In the meantime, to investigate this further, we would require data from the browser's developer console.
If you're willing to try to investigate this with us, let me know, and I'll get in touch with you via the help desk/email.
All the best,
Julien
