Thanks, NC.
I've updated the bug report to say that it happens for several users, with different browsers, etc.
I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Hi Julien,
Re 'rogue' tile issue (on desktop PC with Brave browser), I've now tried Firefox - exactly the same problem.
I'm not able to try another device, though it seems Mark W has experienced the same. If so, problem is not at users end?
NC
Hi,
@NC & Mark: I'm unable to reproduce the rogue OSM tile issue.
I'll have to report this to the devs.
Is it the same on every browser?
If so, is this the same on another device?
Does using WIFI/Mobile data change anything?
I'm trying to understand why clearing the browser's cache didn't change anything. ISPs can have a cache of their own, so I'm wondering if this might be a possible explanation.
@Mark: I'm very sorry about this image posting situation. I will bring this up with the devs again and hope for a solution other than uploading the picture to another website and posting the link here.
I'm very grateful for the support you provide on the forum and would hate to see you engage less because of this technical issue.
I'll get back to you as soon as I receive any news
Thanks,
Julien
Re the second - I cleared the browser cache (for 'all time'), closed the browser and re-opened... Problem not solved - the 'rogue' tile still appears in the same place. (Immediately NE of Telford).
I see that, too. was going to show you here ....
Plotaroute has to start taking its customers seriously. With these sort of apps, Forums are the main way of sorting out peoples' issues or reporting bugs and gremlins. It's like having hands tied and a blindfold on.
Julien,
I give up supporting this forum until we can simply copy/paste screenshots.
It is incredibly painful and time-consuming .... I tried 10 different options to get around "MAXIMUM POST SIZE EXCEEDED"
Hi Julien,
Re the first issue - agreed.
Re the second - I cleared the browser cache (for 'all time'), closed the browser and re-opened... Problem not solved - the 'rogue' tile still appears in the same place. (Immediately NE of Telford).
(Can send screen grab image/s if required).
Regards, NC
Hi,
@NC: I have looked at both screenshots, and those seem to be two different issues.
On the first one, there is indeed a difference in OS map style when zooming. This is what I meant by "the map shown is different between most of the South and the North of the UK."
The perfect example is the area North of Birmingham.
Start by zooming fully out, until the map displays OSM instead of OS.
When you start zooming in, the OS layer will appear.
Zoom in again, OS is still the same everywhere.
Zoom in further, and you'll see a line dividing the UK from Conwy to Lincoln. North is a more zoomed-in OS map, South is a less zoomed-in one, apart from the tile North of Birmingham.
When you zoom in once, it all seems smooth again.
Zoom in again, and you get the difference once more, but now instead of a single tile north of Birmingham, there are several (it looks like a ladder to the north-east and to the north-west of Birmingham).
Zoom in once more, it's all smooth again.
Zoom in again, and the difference is back.
Locations along the line from Birmingham to Conwy and from Birmingham to Lincoln will experience this mixing of zoom levels.
From what I see, only the last three zoom levels seem to show a smooth map, even along those lines.
I understand that this isn't optimal and will bring this up with the devs again.
Now, the second issue, where an OSM tile appears on the OS + TOPO map, looks more like a cache issue.
I wasn't able to find a single location where this is the case for me.
Could you please try finding such a location again, clear your browser's cache, go back to that same location and tell me if it's still there?
Another way of testing this would be to access the dev console (F12 on Chrome) and check the "Disable cache" box.
@Mark: The fact that you see OSM on the OS+TOPO map, combined with the Cycle Map issue you're still experiencing, seems to point towards the cache as well. Could you please delete the web app again, clear the cache of the browser you're adding the web app to your home screen with (make sure to delete all the cache and not only going back an hour or so), add the web app with that same browser again and try accessing the Cycle Map and locating those OSM tiles?
Also, is the browser you're doing this with the default browser on your phone?
Looking forward to your answers.
All the best,
Julien
We are aware of the following difference: at a specific zoom level, the map shown is different between most of the South and the North of the UK.
This is linked with our projection model, and we're not sure this can be changed.
We hope it's not too much of an issue at this zoomed-out level.
Seems on my mobile that a latge sqaure based around my home location always shows the OSM Outdoors maps when zoomed out. It's intermitent around the UK.
This really is a poor show. Where did it all go wrong?
I'm still getting the same thing.
