Popular Routes
Hi Roger,
Let's move this auto-plot discussion to this topic: https://www.plotaroute.com/posts/3390/D/1
Julien
Hi,
It is deffo not one of the obvious OSM data issue. The place I ride through quite a lot, and there is no reason to route around it. When continuing to plot on the next hill, it also gives me odd routes. Something deffo changed the past days/week with the autoblotting. Of course, I can just turn it off and overwrite it, but I do likethe biking/walking Autorouting, it works great normally.
Roger
I read every single post on this forum and also handle all support requests that are sent through the help desk.
I was away last week, so my colleagues looked over support and the forum in my absence. Now that I'm back, I'm reading all the messages I missed and am answering as I go.I see that you have also posted here and got in touch via the help desk.I'll check out your message as soon as possible to take a look at the auto-plot issue you're facing.
@Mark: I'm sorry about this ongoing issue. I haven't received any news since. I'll ask the devs if there is any progress.
All the best,Julien
does someone from plotaroute read this, or are we just hoping, it will work again?
And no change with the Cycle Map/mobile issue .....
Something is off with the plotting. I am trying to use plotaroute this morning, and it takes odd routes, when clicking on the map. it makes no sense somehow.... is there anything new to plot a route, where the walking or biking plotting takes odd detours???
Thanks for the update, Julien
Hi Mark,
Just letting you know that I brought this up with the devs again this morning, and they were able to reproduce the issue, which I still cannot do.
They're looking into it. Hopefully, you'll be able to access the Cycle Map on the web app soon.
They'll also look into the blank map when zoomed in.
Thank you for the additional information.
I don't know where this could be coming from, so I'll share this with the devs and let them investigate further.
Hi Julien,
Does using WIFI/Mobile data change anything when you use the web app?
No, makes no difference. When I was out on teh road in Yorkshire, same inssue with different wi-fi and with data only.
Additional question: Is Chrome the default browser on your phone?I only have Chrome, so yes.
Mark
Additional question: Is Chrome the default browser on your phone?
Same answer as on the OS mapping topic: I'll have to report this to the devs, because I'm unable to reproduce the issue, and clearly what solved it for me doesn't work for you.
Thanks,Julien
@Mark: What you're experiencing is definitely what I had before clearing the cache. Now, on both iOS and Android, the web app shows the Cycle Map and the Topo Map correctly.
What browser are you using to add the web app to your home screen?
To be clear:
Cycle Map does not show until I choose "Plot a route"
Top Map still showing a mix of OS and OSM depending on zoom, and the map tiles are not consistent
Regards,
Hi thanks for your message,I haven had time to sort it out yet but will let you know how I get on . Thanks Brenda
@Travis: answered your help desk ticket: the walking path is set to "foot = no" on OSM
Thanks for flagging the max-zoom Cycle Map issue. I'll report this to the devs right away.
Desktop, plotting a route Cycle Map ... zoom in fully and map tiles disappear. Never used to do that
@Mark: If you haven't done so, could you please delete the web app, clear the cache of your mobile browser with which you add the web app to your home screen (most likely Google Chrome), and finally add the web app again. This is what I had to do to get the Cycle Map working on the web app again.Let me know if this works.
Julien,
Nope, didn't change a thing. To be clear:
AutoPlot to a Trail no longer seems to work for me with this update. Attached is a video of the issue. I've tried clearing the cache, and even using incognito mode. Any ideas how to resolve this?

Hi everyone,
This morning the devs changed the available scales on the OS + TOPO map layer. It is now possible to zoom out way more than before.
However, to take full advantage of this, it requires emptying the browser's cache.
We are aware of the following difference: at a specific zoom level, the map shown is different between most of the South and the North of the UK.This is linked with our projection model, and we're not sure this can be changed. We hope it's not too much of an issue at this zoomed-out level.
Hi Paul,
Could you provide more details about these freezes?
Do they still happen?Do they happen on all the base maps?Do they happen when moving a map or when plotting?Have you cleared your cache or tried another browser?
