    Het eerste deel van de route voert van Hennie Kuipers geboortehuis naar zijn middelbare school in Enschede. Daar fietste Hennie samen met zijn broer vaak tegen de wind in, zeker halverwege de route wanneer je het hoogste punt bereikt. “Alsof er een deur werd open gezet,” aldus Hennie. Na deze provinciale weg kom je een aantal stoplichten tegen. Stop daar netjes en gebruik net als Hennie deze momenten als intervaltraining. Word je sterker van! Voordat je Enschede in fietst, buigt de route af en vervolg je je weg naar het buitengebied richting Losser en De Lutte. De route is hier verkeersluw en licht glooiend. Na De Lutte en voor Beuningen kom je ook over een lus van bijna 5km waar Hennie vroeger zijn trainingen deed. Je kunt de route eenvoudig verlengen door het lusje meerdere malen te fietsen. In deze lus zit het leuke klimmetje Paandersdijk-Nijenhaerweg.
    Startlocatie: Start bij het geboortehuis van Hennie Kuiper, tegenwoordig een leuke ijssalon.
