Over Stainland - West Vale Viaduct (converted path) 4.8 miles

    Pubs
    Rose & Crown 5.3 Miles
    Sportsmans Inn 6.5 Miles
    Spring Rock Inn 7 Miles
    Old Bridge Inn 9.6 Miles
    Malthouse 10.8 Miles

Weird walkway (over river) between Boothwood and Moseldon Road, then past the famous Stott Hall Farm (between the M62).
Past Deanhead Reservoir and Cupwith Hill Reservoir into Marsden.

Ends - The New Inn 16.7 Miles

EDT:- I did this walk really quickly on Sat 25th April (it was 20 plus degrees). Had 5 pints and took 2 1/2 litres of water and I'd ran out around Deanhead Reservoir. Take at least 3 litres (4 if you're not doing the pubs) as it's a bit arduous to the end. Walk is really easy to follow and some belting pubs. I'd go in The Milestone next time at Ripponden, Old Bridge is too expensive now.

Also at 11.8m (Booth Dean Clough) the bridge is fenced off, (I did it anyway because you can clamber over a tree which has fallen onto the bridge) but just carry onto Moseledon Rd from Oldham Road if you don't wish to do it.

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
